Welcome to my blog...

I am currently working on a mega yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We plan on heading to the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean for the winter. We made the crossing from Europe in October. Mike and I have had a great time thus far and look forward to our next adventures.

I miss everyone so much, but really am living my life to the fullest. I am experiencing new things everyday and gaining valuable maritime knowledge. Thanks for checking in on Mike and I, don’t forget to leave a comment! ~ Danielle

I am SCARED!!!!!!!

As of now, I don't know where Minkie is. I can not get any word out of Mike, I keep trying. I have looked everywhere I can think of. Thank goodness I have 4 eyes watching my bed (Alley the Alpaca and Snowy the Owl). I know they are guarding my bed with their life...but I can't find Minkie...

Another night without sleep.

Guess who slept with Minkie...

...and didn't even know it?

Mike, of course! I snuck Minkie in his bed and he slept with him all night. I couldn't sleep because I thought he would find it and stick one of his feet on me. He didn't find him...I'm afraid of the revenge!!

Butchart Gardens

My Aunt Prissy, cousin Adair, and second cousin Gabrielle and I took a public transportation bus to Butchart Gardens. I must say how great it would be for all of our country to get on board with great public transportation. It cost us $2.25/each one way for a 45 minute road trip up the island of Vancouver. I think we all marveled over the scenic route through the neighborhoods of British Columbia. Butchart Gardens is quite amazing. I went once before during the summer when the flowers were in full bloom. Although there were not as many flowers this time of year, the vast variety of colors completely makes up for it. We enjoyed high tea at noon in a beautiful garden setting surrounded by orchids (my favorite)!

Halloween

I know I am late getting these pictures out. Halloween was a great time. We went out on the town in Victoria. Everyone seemed to be in the Halloween spirit and very festive. Here is Mike's costume in the final works. He also surprised me with ORANGE eyes (what a freak)! I was the same old "cosmic chick". I have to retire this costume and get a new one next year. By the end of the night we traded...

High Tea at the Empress

We have had such a wonderful time with Mike's mom (Donna) and Aunt Diana! We went to the Empress Hotel on my Birthday at noon for a most decadent time with tea and yummy hors d'oeuvres. That night for dinner we went to the Japanese Steak House, a tradition started by my dad long ago on my birthday. After dinner we went to see the Victoria Symphony. It was really nice, but I was so relaxed I had to fight falling asleep! The venue was one of the coolest places, The Royal Theater (http://www.seevirtual360.com/themes/2/theme02.aspx?listingID=4384). I had a great day!! Thanks to my family and friends that called to wish me a Happy Birthday!!!

Exciting Birthday!

Mike gave me an AWESOME birthday present! I received a new Nikon D60 camera. It's the first time I've ever had a "real" camera! Don't get me wrong, the Nikon Coolpix is great, but the picture quality of the new camera is even better. I have lots to learn as I get to know the new one. I'm excited to bring you new pictures!
These pictures are from a walk we went on with Mike's mom, aunt, Mike, and myself: Totem poles in Beacon park, a black squirrel (so incredible), watering can in Beacon Park, Sea otter (awesome), and a Dr. Seuss tree.
